How to say no to a Bridezilla
As a wedding service provider that is probably one of the hardest decisions ever need to do. How can you say no to a bride?
As a minister I have a few different perspectives on this. Most brides I've worked with have been the most gentle and kind ladies I could make. And then you have some who even hear his voice on the phone is like fingernails on a blackboard. So what to do with the few which are very far between?
1.) Trust your instincts. Sometimes this is difficult when finances and money involved. Just because someone is willing to pay the price, it means nothing. If you have a bad feeling about working with someone, get out now before it is too late and you can not.
2.) If anyone doubts about personal things and not their service, this can be a huge red flag that something is off. Try to guide the conversation to their qualifications type. If this can not be done, then this could be the competition trying to get information from you and you should politely refuse to do the wedding and offer to refer them competition.
3.) Just say no. Whenever you are working with the public have to worry about two things. How you are perceived by individuals and how they are perceived by the general public. By saying no, and holding your ground, people respect you, if done tastefully and professionally.
4.) Sometimes a supplier and a girlfriend are not simply a good fit. Not when to retire gracefully. There is nothing worse than having a supplier and an angry girlfriend, both in a wedding day and "try" to work together. If you have done everything in their power to try to make the bride happy and has not worked, relate to dating.
5.) Suppose you have a contract and then what to do? Fulfill your contract and move on. Sometimes we need to get selling on the situations and then can not return them ethically and legally. We also have to worry about people posting negative (and sometimes wrong!) Reviews of us on the Internet. If you have gotten engaged and are too deep to simply learn from experience and ensure no recurrence.
6.) Learn why you are afraid to say no. Some people do not like being confused the wrong way. Others simply want to make sure other people like them. As wedding suppliers, we are there to provide a service to a bride. If they do, like us, are more likely to say so. If you are afraid of getting a bad review of someone who can not be appreciated by people anyway, and good 100 reviews knowing that offer great service, ask yourself if it's worth. Is it worth another person who makes his life hell for possibly several months a year?
7.) We all know that one day the bride is the most important of his life. However, all also know that there's a fine line between professionalism and remain calm, and none of us want to do that. If you feel that this girl can push the edge, leave before it is too late. That way you do not lose your temper, and you do not have to worry about being considered unprofessional.
8.)'s Girlfriend is not your new best friend. Sure, it's great to share personal treats, but if a bride I called in the middle of the night ranting, or exchange of information is too much, this might not be a good idea for you to continue. Sometimes people who share information overload can also dig information from you and if you want things to stay professional, you might have to leave.
9.) Do favors to brides who are friends. The friendship will more than likely suffer in one way or another. Just do not, it's a bad idea.
10.) Turning to the number 1, always trust your instincts. If you are a small voice cries out, then get out while you can! And be sure to listen to advice from other suppliers. If called with the tip of a "" about bridezilla, you can be sure it's probably a good idea for you to pass it as well.
